Kinja'd!!!

It’s a 2014 Evo MR, 24k miles, $24k and still under factory warranty for 2 years

Worth noting...as of today I can’t afford this in a practical/adult manner, but I’m hoping it doesn’t sell so I can come in and take next year

The company will probably expire before the warranty does.

Do it. EVO MR’s are awesome.

The values on these aren’t going anywhere so if you did stretch to buy it you could probably get out of it if needed without much of a hit. I think MR’s are going to be collector cars one day. Counterpoint: there are plenty of low mileage examples of these around. Yes some people DD them, but there are adults that own them as weekend toys. When your financial situation improves you’ll still be able to find a clean low mileage MR. The cost too much still for the questionable mod crowd to destroy all of them.

Because it’s still $24k for a nearly three year old Mitsubishi?

Have you? Because they’re absolute cheater cars. Much faster and better handling than they have any business being.

I’m kinda surprised there are still new ones on dealer lots.

Oh man, that’s really tempting. It’s even in my favorite color. I’ve been looking at trading in my ‘16 STI on something with an automatic so my wife or other members of my family could drive it if need be.

Agreed on that point. For the price they are pretty good. I just have never really found much joy in driving them.

Do you live in a place with predominantly straight roads and no tracks? They’re complete monsters in the corners. Outside of a GT-R, there really isn’t any equivalent feeling to how they claw for grip.

That’s because most new EVO owners do ~$10k worth of damage to them in the first yr by beating the bloody hell out of them. You will too if you get one.

Well there’s no point in buying one if you’re just gonna drive around granny shifting, not double clutching like you should.

Haha yup. Detroit Metro. I haven’t thrown one around on track yet, but around town it was a bit dull. How do they compare to the STi? The one I recently picked up is a bit boring around town as well.

Imagine having a Corvette and never being able to take it out of narrow parking lots or over 25mph. That’s either of those cars in the Detroit Metro ;)

The STi is a just a different flavor of icecream. Different strokes for different folks. Evo has always been more of a track car and STi more of a rally monster. Both excel when things get sloppy and curvy but from what I’m told, the STi is prone to understeer where the Evo is isn’t.

This video is a great comparison:

No link for details on it?

Im also surprised the car still has $24,000 price. The “stigma” that car magazines kept pushing in our faces apparently didn’t affect pricing for Mitsubishi. But if its your favorite car then get it. Enjoy the rally stages and gravel/tarmac/snow.
